Sleep Apnea Evaluation
Obstructive sleep apnea is common and frequently goes undiagnosed. Left untreated, it can affect not just sleep quality but also heart health, blood pressure, and daytime functioning.
Signs that may indicate sleep apnea:
Loud or frequent snoring
Witnessed pauses in breathing during sleep
Morning headaches
Excessive daytime sleepiness or fatigue
Waking up gasping or choking
Difficulty concentrating during the day
What the evaluation involves: Dr. Abdallah reviews your symptoms, sleep history, and risk factors, and coordinates appropriate sleep testing — whether that's home sleep testing or an in-lab polysomnography study, depending on your situation. Once results are available, Dr. Abdallah reviews them with you and develops a treatment plan tailored to your needs, which may include CPAP therapy, lifestyle modifications, or other interventions.
Ongoing care: Sleep apnea management doesn't end at diagnosis. Dr. Abdallah follows up with patients to make sure treatment is effective and sustainable, adjusting the approach as needed over time.
